On the Future of Holistic Health

In this exclusive interview published in HELLO! magazine, Ebru Şinik explained why the concept of wellbeing has gained so much importance in recent years, the link between individual quality of life and societal well-being, and the goals of the 4th Wellbeing Conference.

The interview offers a strong perspective on holistic health, epigenetics, corporate wellbeing, stress management, the conference audience profile, and the development of the well-being movement in Turkey.

1. Why Has the Concept of Wellbeing Gained So Much Importance?

In today's fast-paced world, social wellbeing, environmental wellbeing, and financial balance carry just as much importance as physical, mental, and spiritual health. Right at this point, the concept of "wellbeing" comes before us.

Wellbeing is a term that is still frequently confused with the expression wellness. While wellness only includes fitness, nutrition, and SPA applications; wellbeing is the main overarching umbrella term that also harbors wellness practices within it.

The term wellbeing integrates daily choices that provide balance across the human physical, mental, and spiritual bodies with a simultaneous balance-building approach in career, financial, social, and environmental life. It also harbors all wellness and preventative medicine practices under its umbrella.

“Our overall quality of life is the clearest indicator of our state of well-being. According to epigenetic science and ancient medicine systems, our lifestyle is the most important determinant of health, body-mind balance, and the state of wellbeing.”

Ebru Şinik notes that she first encountered the term and lifestyle of wellbeing during her Meditation and Ayurveda specialization trainings at the Chopra Center in the USA in 2011. She shares that by integrating Ayurvedic preventative medicine practices into her life during this period, she experienced major transformations in her physical and mental health.

Grounded in these experiences, she states that she structured the “Your Genes Are Not Your Destiny” methodology over the last 15 years, and continues to provide training and inform the public through the association accordingly.

2. Out of What Need Was the Wellbeing Association Founded?

The Wellbeing Association was established to share the wellbeing lifestyle that Ebru Şinik has integrated into her own life over the years with large public masses, going beyond the graduates of Yükselen Çağ Wellbeing Academy.

Reaching out to individuals who do not have the time, budget, or motivation to receive formal training, but still want to create a state of feeling better starting from some point in their lives stands out as one of the most important motivations of the association.

The Wellbeing and Holistic Health Association aims to safeguard individual, corporate, and public health, elevating the state of holistic health and awareness across work, private, social, and digital life.

3. What Does the Wellbeing Conference Bring to Participants?

Since there is a much greater demand for the conference this year compared to previous years, the goal is to reach a wider audience with a capacity of 650 people.

According to Ebru Şinik, for individuals to integrate the concept of wellbeing into their lives, they first need to set an intention and make a decision: “I want to feel better in every sense from this moment on. I must start from somewhere, even if it is small, to elevate my overall state of wellbeing.”

Free guidance is provided to our association members. Every week, different yoga, meditation, and pranayama breathing technique sessions are offered online, live, and interactively, specifically within the scope of “Add Movement to Your Life and Manage Your Stress” classes aimed at stress management.

4. Who Comprises the Audience of the Conference?

The conference audience mostly consists of professionals who have heard of wellbeing before, encountered publications on this subject, or received training within their companies, alongside valuable brands investing in the future.

Based on statistics, the participant profile generally consists of professionals aged 30-55 at the peak of their careers, from the A and B+ socio-economic segments, possessing at least an undergraduate and predominantly postgraduate education level, who follow global trends, categorized into the following 6 primary segments:

C-Suite Executives and Decision Makers

CEOs, CHROs, department managers, and teams launching corporate wellbeing programs within their companies.

Health and Wellbeing Professionals

Doctors, pharmacists, dietitians, psychologists, coaches, trainers, and Yükselen Çağ Wellbeing Academy graduates.

White-Collar Employees

Professionals working under high stress who allocate a budget for personal development and health.

Finance and Consulting Sector

Finance experts and consultants working with a focus on stress management and high performance.

Entrepreneurs and Business Owners

Those trying to balance work and private life, viewing holistic health as a business strategy or management metric.

Conscious Consumers

Individuals who want to make a more balanced, high-quality, and healthy life a continuous lifestyle.

5. What is the Main Theme of the 4th Wellbeing Conference?

The fourth conference of the Wellbeing and Holistic Health Association will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, under the venue sponsorship of The Grand Tarabya Managed by Accor, at a magnificent conference hall overlooking the Bosphorus.

This year, the 9 panels will focus on topics such as career, work-life balance, financial wellbeing, longevity, skincare, the health sector, exercise, and music. The conference will feature 28 prominent names across 9 panels.

6. How the Wellbeing Conference in Turkey Differs from Its Global Counterparts

There are numerous universities, NGOs, and research institutions worldwide working on this subject. Particularly, the summits organized by the international research organization GALLUP and the Oxford Wellbeing Research Center, established within Oxford University, are among the most serious and comprehensive ones in the world.

As an expert providing Corporate Wellbeing training for 13 years, I can easily say that we are able to involve companies in the corporate world in Turkey regarding the Wellbeing at Work approach just as much as in the UK and the USA. In other words, Turkey is moving toward a substantial awareness in corporate wellbeing.

When it comes to providing data and statistics, unfortunately, we are quite far behind. Our academic board members have published 5 different research papers so far. We plan to expand these studies to contribute to international data.
